A Little Bit About Us

Redemption was instituted as a church in 1997, initially under the name Flamborough Canadian Reformed Church. We are an independent community church, but we are also a faithful member church of the federation of Canadian Reformed Churches. This federation consists of approximately 70 independent congregations across the country (including a few in the United States). Together we hold each other accountable to Biblical doctrine and proper practice, while also partnering for the cause of the gospel.

For our first twenty years, we worshipped in the facilities of the Rehoboth Canadian Reformed Church (1225, Dundas St., Burlington, ON). Then, for another four years, we rented the facilities of Grace Christian School (497 Millgrove Side Rd., Millgrove, ON). Finally, in January 2022, after many years of praying, planning, and waiting, we moved into our newly constructed worship facilities in idyllic Strabane, ON (823 Safari. Rd.).

At Redemption our vision is, “To faithfully proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ in worship, unity, and witness, all to the praise of God’s glorious grace.” Our mission is “Loving God; loving one another; sharing the gospel.”

Redemption has been home to a diverse group of believers for over two decades. Every Sunday we gather as God’s people for worship (at 10am and 3pm). In everything we do, we celebrate our redemption from sin, and God’s lavish grace toward us in Jesus Christ. As Ephesians 1:5-8 states so beautifully, “In love [God] predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with His pleasure and will—to the praise of His glorious grace, which He has freely given us in the One He loves. In Him, we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that He lavished on us.”

We’d love to meet you! Come join us this Sunday for worship!
